Technical details

Tilde Loops engineers collaborated with Motive Create in an ambitious project to develop a robust API facilitating the integration of customer products and services with software of financial institutions. In this technical exposition, we will delve into the intricacies of this collaboration, focusing on the implementation of microservices using Node.js – a powerful approach that epitomises autonomy, scalability, and maintainability.

The foundation of this collaboration rested upon the adoption of microservices – small, self-sufficient services that collectively function as a cohesive whole. Each microservice was meticulously crafted around a specific business domain, equipped with well-defined responsibilities. This design philosophy ensured that each service was purpose-built to excel in its designated task, promoting ease of maintenance and allowing seamless deployment of individual services without affecting others in the system. The result was a highly agile and adaptable architecture capable of scaling effortlessly to meet evolving demands.

Key to this architecture’s success was its capacity to scale both vertically and horizontally. By creating multiple instances of any given service, or even selectively scaling a subset of services, the software could be seamlessly adjusted to accommodate fluctuations in demand. Furthermore, this approach enabled the team to optimise operational costs by reducing service instances when necessary, all while preserving the system’s robustness.

To ensure the reliability of the software, a comprehensive testing framework was employed. Each microservice was subjected to rigorous unit testing, component testing and e2e testing, providing confidence in its correctness and functionality. The deployment process was thoughtfully decoupled from the release, with multiple environments dedicated to thorough testing before final deployment. Upon achieving satisfactory results, new features and changes were promptly released, maintaining a cycle of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) for maximum efficiency.

Keeping track of the users is essential for business and sales so they needed a simple tool to make the process easier. We built a web application with all required functionalities and ensured compatibility with tools and platforms they use in internal communication and everyday work. One of the client’s requests was to make in-browser notifications optional so that any employee with access to this application could choose the events they want to be informed about in real-time.
